Associate Professor Forensic Medicine

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Associate Professor in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology to join our esteemed institution. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students, contributing to medico-legal services, guiding research activities, and fulfilling administrative responsibilities in the department.

Key Responsibilities:Academic & Teaching:

• Deliver lectures, practical sessions, and demonstrations in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology to MBBS and other health sciences students.
• Guide postgraduate students and research scholars (if PG courses are offered).
• Prepare course materials, evaluation tools, and contribute to curriculum development.
• Supervise internal assessments, university examinations, and maintain academic records.

Medico-legal Services:

• Assist in conducting medico-legal post-mortems and forensic examinations.
• Guide junior faculty and residents in medico-legal documentation and casework.
• Ensure proper chain-of-custody and medico-legal compliance in forensic cases.

Research:

• Undertake independent and collaborative research projects in forensic science or medical jurisprudence.
• Publish in peer-reviewed, indexed journals in line with regulatory guidelines.
• Mentor junior faculty and students in research methodology and thesis writing.

Administrative Duties:

• Assist the Head of Department in academic planning, scheduling, and departmental coordination.
• Participate in faculty meetings, accreditation processes, and quality assurance initiatives.
• Serve on institutional committees as assigned.

Professional Development:

• Participate in faculty development programs, workshops, and CMEs.
• Stay updated with recent advances in forensic medicine, legal standards, and teaching practices.

Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification:

• MBBS with MD in Forensic Medicine from a recognized medical institution.
• Recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) / Medical Council of India (MCI) or relevant authority.
