As an Associate Pricing Actuary in the Actuarial Pricing Team of the commercial General Insurance space at Swiss Re, your role involves supporting senior team members in conducting various analyses using data-driven techniques. Reporting into the Lead Actuary Engineering within the Actuarial Portfolio Management (APM) Unit, you are expected to have a good understanding of Actuarial techniques and a willingness to learn new topics. Your role will contribute to improving the profitability of the global Underwriting portfolio by utilizing actuarial methods and techniques to develop insights into portfolio trends and set costing parameters for proprietary Engineering costing models. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct Profitability Studies: - Collaborate with senior team members to develop a clear and independent view on current pricing or loss adequacy through data analysis. - Translate analysis findings into impactful Executive reports with effective visualizations and recommendations. - Ensure Costing Accuracy and Data Analytics: - Assist senior team members in translating profitability insights into corrective actions on costing models and parameters. - Develop and maintain costing parameters and tools, model and price deal transactions. - Utilize actuarial and data science techniques to derive insights and trends for risk selection, differentiation, and costing improvements. **About The Team:** You will be part of a global team of Actuaries located in multiple cities including Bangalore, Munich, Zurich, Manchester, London, New York, Windsor, and Kansas City. The team works on the largest portfolio for Swiss Re CorSo under the Underwriting Unit, reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO). The team fosters an inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives, innovative thinking, and ensures equal opportunities for professional development. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in a Quantitative/Numerical subject from a recognized university. - Progression towards actuarial qualification. - Up to 3 years of practical experience in an Actuarial domain, preferably in general insurance. - Excellent skills in MS Excel and strong programming abilities in R/Python or SQL. - Strong affinity for data and numbers with high numeracy and attention to detail. - Excellent communication skills in English to effectively convey complex ideas. - Open-minded, intellectually curious approach with a continuous learning mindset.
