Responsibilities
- Safety Leadership & Culture Building:
- Champion Adani's safety culture by leading safety initiatives that promote zero harm and proactive hazard management across project sites.
- Drive safety awareness campaigns and training programs to embed safety as a core value at all organizational levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reinforce safety accountability and continuous improvement.
- Development and Implementation of Safety Policies:
- Develop, update, and enforce comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and guidelines aligned with statutory regulations and industry best practices.
- Ensure all safety documentation is compliant with central and state-level regulatory frameworks governing the power and energy sector.
- Implement project-specific safety plans, incorporating risk assessments and control measures tailored to the unique hazards of each project phase.
- Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification:
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and hazard analyses to identify potential safety risks.
- Oversee the preparation and implementation of risk mitigation strategies to prevent accidents and incidents.
- Ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions are effectively executed following any safety incident.
- Compliance and Regulatory Management:
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable safety laws, standards, and environmental regulations.
- Liaise with statutory authorities and represent the organization during safety inspections and audits.
- Maintain accurate records of safety performance metrics, incident reports, and audit findings for management review.
- Contractor and Workforce Safety Management:
- Oversee safety induction, training, and monitoring of contractors to ensure adherence to Adani's safety standards.
- Facilitate regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and communication channels to engage the workforce effectively.
- Promote behavioral safety initiatives to enhance workforce participation and ownership of safety practices.
- Emergency Preparedness and Incident Management:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure readiness.
- Lead investigations of safety incidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up.
- Collaborate with health and environment teams to integrate safety with broader EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) strategies.
- Continuous Improvement and Reporting:
- Use data-driven insights to identify trends, develop improvement plans, and implement innovative safety solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive safety performance reports and present them to senior management and project stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry developments in safety management to keep the organization at the forefront.
Technical Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to the Power and Energy sector
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and hazard analysis tools (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA)
- Experience with safety management systems, audits, and compliance monitoring
- Familiarity with project management software and safety reporting tools
- Understanding of electrical safety, construction safety, and industrial hygiene principles
- Emergency response planning and implementation expertise
Non-Negotiable Skills
- Ability to lead safety initiatives and build a safety-first culture
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in the Power/Energy industry

Qualifications
Education QualificationBachelor's degree in safety engineering, Environmental Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. A master's degree or advanced diploma in Industrial Safety or Risk Management will be an added advantage.Experience -10-12 years of progressive experience in safety management specifically within the Power and Energy industry, with demonstrated success in managing safety programs in large-scale projects.
