Associate II - Engineering Design

As an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer at UST, you will be responsible for developing professional and cost-effective designs in collaboration with the team under the guidance of Designer-III and Lead. Your role will involve applying engineering principles to achieve the desired outcomes. In the electrical domain, you will focus on the development of 2D wire harness drawings that comply with customer requirements and drafting standards. Additionally, you will work on the design of hardware fixation components using 3D modeling, routing wire harness designs in 3D, and understanding schematic drawings. In the mechanical domain, you will be involved in hydraulic design, structural design, weld design, vehicle integration and assembly, and Finite Element Analysis. Your responsibilities will include selecting hydraulic components, designing structural members, welding structural components, and contributing to vehicle integration and assembly. You will be evaluated based on customer satisfaction, adherence to schedules and SLAs, defect post-delivery, non-compliance issues, productivity standards, and completion of mandatory training. Your outputs are expected to include understanding design requirements, identifying and rectifying errors, creating documentation, maintaining input-output folders, complying with reporting standards, and participating in design review presentations. Knowledge management is crucial, where you will create procedures, documents, checklists, and workflow models. Adherence to PLM & PDM processes, understanding requirements gathering, and continuous learning and growth are essential aspects of the role. Skills required for this position include the ability to perform interference checks, create harness drawings, work in a team environment, communicate effectively, seek help proactively, and think analytically. Proficiency in appropriate 3D software modules, GD&T, value analysis, and knowledge about various domains are also necessary.
