Associate Game Artist

As an iGaming artist at Light & Wonder, your primary focus will be on creating captivating 2D illustrations and animations to enhance the gaming experience for our players. Working closely with our digital team, you will contribute to the development of high-quality game assets while collaborating with senior artists and developers to meet project requirements effectively. Your adaptability to different artistic styles and commitment to maintaining consistency across various projects will be crucial in optimizing assets for seamless integration into the game pipeline. Your key responsibilities will include creating 2D illustrations such as characters, environments, and in-game assets with a strong emphasis on artistic quality. Additionally, you will be involved in developing engaging animations for game elements using Spine 2D, learning and refining character and object animations. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members and contribute innovative ideas will play a vital role in enhancing the visual appeal of our games. To excel in this role, you should possess strong drawing and illustration skills, along with a solid understanding of composition, color theory, and character design. A basic knowledge of 2D animation principles and a willingness to learn Spine 2D quickly are essential. Your technical proficiency and adaptability to new tools and software will be beneficial in optimizing assets for performance. A strong personal portfolio showcasing your digital illustrations, character designs, background art, and animations will be required to demonstrate your capabilities. While not mandatory, familiarity with game development pipelines and asset optimization, as well as experience with digital painting software like Photoshop and Illustrator, would be advantageous. Additionally, exposure to UI/UX design for games and knowledge of 3D applications such as Blender 3D, Maya, or 3DS Max are considered nice-to-have skills that can further enhance your contribution to our team.
