Job Description

The individual will play a key role in supporting the Secondaries team of a Private Equity client around financial analysis, pricing, and valuations. The professional will be closely working as an extended team member for the client and will assist them with portfolio monitoring, valuations and investor reporting services.

This opportunity is ideal for private equity / investment banking professionals interested in working with leading global private equity funds and asset management companies. The role provides good exposure to various aspects of the private equity and valuations industry.

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Coverage analysis for multi fund opportunities for a Secondaries/FoF PE
  • Support the investment team by organizing & reviewing fund & portfolio data from data rooms
  • Capturing fund valuation data such as investment cost, realized / unrealized value, gross / net multiple, gross / net IRR and financial KPIs such as revenue, EBITDA, net debt etc.
  • Process & reconcile capital calls, distributions and cash flows across multiple funds
  • Working around valuation models, including updating and rolling forward on quarterly basis and making desired changes
  • Build and update pricing models as part of deal valuation and arrive at reasonable purchase price
  • Support the Client's quarterly valuation process and make required edits
  • Manage the client library tasks such as portfolio company details, fund financial statements and capital notices
  • Updating and maintaining deals monitoring platform with latest data on an ongoing basis
  • Work closely with the investment & finance teams of clients to reconcile performance metrics, IRR & NAV changes
  • Modify and maintain all templates and reports as per requirement
  • Interacting with very senior professionals at private equity firms and corporations
  • Identify & implement process improvements, automation & best practices to streamline operations
  • Can lead the team of 2-3 analysts and associates
  • Conduct on-the-job and off-the-job training sessions for new joiners and team members.

Key Competencies: -

  • Experience in and around- Private equity / Secondaries / Valuations / Financial Statement Analysis, creation and maintenance of Templates
  • Candidates should have strong understanding of various methods of valuations
  • MBA in Finance, Economics or Business management / CFA
  • Strong analytical, communication (written/verbal) and client engaging skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain lasting relationships with senior professionals; good interpersonal skills; goal-oriented
  • Ability to be a team player and contribute to the development of the team
  • Strong work ethics, commitment to excel and proven ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Previous experience in a similar role will be an added advantage
