Assistant/Associate Professor – Fine Arts (Sculpture Specialization)

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s Degree (MFA/M.Voc) in Fine Arts with specialization in Sculpture from a recognized university.
• Ph.D. in Fine Arts (Sculpture/Visual Arts) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of teaching, studio practice, exhibitions, or professional art industry experience.
• Strong academic and artistic portfolio; participation in exhibitions, camps, art shows, or publications will be an added advantage.
• Candidates should meet UGC norms as applicable.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Fine Arts with a focus on Sculpture.
• Guide students in sculpture techniques including clay modeling, stone carving, wood carving, metal sculpture, installations, and contemporary forms.
• Supervise student studio projects, creative portfolios, exhibitions, and dissertations.
• Develop curriculum aligned with contemporary and traditional sculptural practices.
• Organize practical workshops, art camps, exhibitions, artist talks, and studio-based learning activities.
• Engage in creative research, studio practice, and participate in national/international exhibitions.
• Mentor students for creative growth, competitions, exhibitions, and professional career paths in the art industry.
• Participate in departmental and university-level activities and committees.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

• Strong proficiency in traditional and modern sculpting techniques.
• Hands-on skills in materials like clay, wood, metal, fiber, plaster, stone, and mixed media.
• Creative portfolio showcasing sculptures, public art, installations, or exhibition participation.
• Knowledge of modern art practices, design thinking, and digital tools for art development.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Ability to collaborate on creative projects, exhibitions, and art festivals.

Pay Scale

₹30,000 – ₹70,000 per month (commensurate with qualifications & experience).
