Assistant Professor Nephrology

Position Summary:

The Department of Medicine at [Institution Name] is seeking a qualified and motivated physician to join the Division of Nephrology as an Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic, clinical, and research missions of the division. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality patient care, engage in clinical or basic science research, and participate in the education and training of medical students, residents, and nephrology fellows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient and outpatient nephrology care, including dialysis management, chronic kidney disease, glomerular diseases, and transplant nephrology (if applicable)
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and classroom settings
• Participate in clinical or translational research, with support for developing an independent research program
• Attend and contribute to academic meetings, grand rounds, and case discussions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, pharmacy, transplant teams, and dialysis providers
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital committees as assigned

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certified or board eligible in Nephrology
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Nephrology
• Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in [State]
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in academic medicine, clinical research, or medical education
• Excellent communication, clinical, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in transplant nephrology or interventional nephrology
• Track record of scholarly publications and/or funded research
• Teaching experience at undergraduate or graduate medical education levels
