Position Title: Assistant Professor - MSc Community Health Nursing

Reports To: Head of Department / Dean

Job Summary:

The Assistant Professor for MSc Community Health Nursing will be responsible for teaching, research, and clinical supervision within the master's program in Community Health Nursing. The individual will work closely with faculty members, provide mentorship to students, and contribute to the development and implementation of the curriculum. The role also includes conducting research in the field of community health nursing, promoting public health education, and engaging in community outreach programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Instruction:
  • Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and seminars for MSc Community Health Nursing students.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching methods, strategies, and instructional materials to facilitate student learning.
  • Assess student performance through assignments, projects, exams, and clinical evaluations.
  • Supervise postgraduate students in their academic and clinical practice, guiding them in research and thesis work.
  • Ensure curriculum content aligns with national and international standards for nursing education.
  • Research and Scholarly Activities:
  • Engage in scholarly research activities related to community health, nursing practice, and public health policies.
  • Publish research findings in reputable nursing and healthcare journals.
  • Apply for research funding and contribute to institutional research projects and community-based health initiatives.
  • Foster a research environment that encourages critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
  • Clinical Supervision and Practice:
  • Supervise clinical practice in community settings and healthcare institutions.
  • Provide mentorship to students during community health practicums, ensuring they are adequately prepared for professional practice.
  • Collaborate with local health agencies to develop and implement community health programs and initiatives.
  • Curriculum Development:
  • Participate in curriculum development and review processes for the MSc Community Health Nursing program.
  • Ensure the curriculum reflects current trends, practices, and advancements in community health nursing.
  • Integrate interprofessional education and collaborative practice into the nursing program.
  • Student Support and Mentorship:
  • Provide academic guidance, counseling, and mentorship to students.
  • Assist in student recruitment, advising, and retention efforts.
  • Encourage student involvement in community health projects and professional organizations.
  • Administrative and Other Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to departmental meetings, committees, and university activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of nursing standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) activities to remain current in the field of nursing.
  • Participate in outreach programs aimed at improving community health and wellbeing.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Educational Requirements:
  • Master's degree (MSc) in Community Health Nursing or related field.
  • A PhD in Nursing or Community Health (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience in a recognized academic institution, preferably at the postgraduate level.
  • Significant experience in community health nursing practice and community-based healthcare.
  • Demonstrated involvement in research and scholarly activities related to nursing or community health.
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of community health issues, policies, and interventions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, healthcare professionals, and community stakeholders.
  • Proficient in the use of educational technology and learning management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
