Assistant Mechanical BIM Engineer (Plant 3D)

Role Overview: As an experienced professional in managing quality and accuracy of BIM information, your role at Mott MacDonald will involve ensuring that the information meets the required standards and levels of detail. You will be proficient in using Plant 3D and Navisworks software, and have experience in Project Setup. Your responsibilities will include tag customization for modeling components, editing catalog and specification databases, and developing 2D construction drawings from 3D models. Additionally, you will be expected to extract Bill of Material for piping and structures, generate piping isometrics, and coordinate between engineering disciplines to resolve modeling issues. Key Responsibilities: - Manage quality and accuracy of BIM information - Utilize Plant 3D and Navisworks software effectively - Customize tags for modeling components - Edit catalog and specification databases - Develop 2D construction drawings from 3D models - Extract Bill of Material for piping and structures - Generate piping isometrics - Coordinate between engineering disciplines to resolve modeling issues - Solve day-to-day issues on projects - Review modeling issues and ensure efficient delivery Qualification Required: - Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering - Water industry experience preferred - Knowledge of Plant 3D PID and Bentley OpenPlant PID considered advantageous - Knowledge of Bentley ProjectWise or BIM 360 seen as additional advantage - Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team - Troubleshooting, guiding, and training team members in BIM projects - Coordinating with supply chain and vendors - Professional attitude, self-motivated, and a team player with multi-disciplinary coordination skills Additional Details: Mott MacDonald offers a supportive work environment that encourages work-life balance and career flexibility.
