Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

The Assistant Manager QMS will be responsible for ensuring the organization’s Quality Management System is robust, compliant, and continuously improved. This role involves managing internal and external audits, certification processes, customer audits, and driving initiatives to revamp QMS documentation and standards. The incumbent will also represent the company in external quality forums and competitions, promoting best practices and benchmarking excellence.

Audit & Compliance Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute internal audits across all functions to ensure compliance with QMS standards.
  • Manage external audits including certification audits (e.g., ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards).
  • Facilitate customer audits, ensuring timely preparation and closure of findings.
  • Maintain audit schedules, reports, and corrective action tracking.

Quality Management System Development:

  • Lead initiatives to revamp QMS processes, including:
  • Redefining Quality Management Standards.
  • Updating Process Maps, Quality System Procedures (QSP), Quality System Formats(QSF), and Quality System Work Instructions (QSW).
  • Ensure documentation aligns with international standards and organizational objectives.
  • Drive digitalization or automation of QMS processes where feasible.

Certification & Compliance:

  • Ensure timely renewal and compliance for all certifications (ISO and other relevant standards).
  • Monitor regulatory and industry changes to keep QMS updated.

Customer & External Engagement:

  • Represent the organization in external quality forums such as QCFI (Quality Circle Forum of India), CII Quality Circles, and similar platforms.
  • Prepare and present case studies, projects, and best practices for competitions and benchmarking exercises.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in QMS processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Kaizen, Lean, and other quality improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering / Quality Management / Industrial Management or related field.

Experience: 4–6 years in Quality Management System, with hands-on experience in audits and certifications.

Certifications: Lead Auditor certification for ISO standards preferred.
