Industry: Heavy Fabrication Railway & Construction Equipment
Location: Kharabwadi Chakan, Pune Qualification: Diploma / BE (Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering preferred) Experience: 1015 years (with strong background in heavy fabrication)

Role Overview

The Assistant Manager PPC will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring production activities to ensure on-time delivery, optimum utilization of resources, and alignment with customer requirements. The role demands hands-on experience in heavy fabrication processes, strong coordination skills, and the ability to drive efficiency across operations.

Role & responsibilities

  • Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production plans in line with customer orders and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor progress against plans, identify bottlenecks, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, and Stores teams to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Optimize utilization of manpower, machines, and material resources.
  • Prepare and track MIS reports related to production planning, material availability, and order status.
  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials and bought-out items through coordination with the procurement team.
  • Drive adherence to quality standards, welding processes, and fabrication timelines.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives through better planning, sequencing, and process improvements.
  • Liaise with clients/marketing teams for delivery commitments and production feasibility.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational excellence practices.

Preferred candidate profile

  • 10–15 years of experience in Production Planning & Control (PPC) within heavy fabrication industry (Railway, Construction Equipment, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes – cutting, welding, machining, painting, assembly.
  • Proficiency in ERP / SAP / MS Excel for planning and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle high-volume, complex fabrication schedules and drive on-time delivery.
