Copper Tube Manufacturing - IGT - Baroda ( Waghodia )

Unit Brief :

This project will be India's first Copper Tube Manufacturing facility, in area of Downstream Copper Products- Copper Tube and Copper Rod, Copper Alloy Rod, Copper Wires & Copper Alloy Wires. Purpose of establishing the Copper Tube is to improve cost competitiveness of Indias AC manufacturing, developing a local component manufacturing ecosystem is critical and recognizing the same, Government has announced a Production Linked Incentive scheme for the entire value chain.

• Hands-on experience with compressors, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and piping systems.
• Strong knowledge of troubleshooting techniques for rotating and static equipment.
• Familiarity with maintenance software (CMMS) and industrial safety protocols.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Job Brief :

Key Responsibilities:

1. Machinery Operation & Monitoring:

• Operate and monitor mechanical systems such as compressors, nitrogen plants, chillers, cooling towers, and water treatment plants.
• Ensure smooth operation of piping networks, including fire hydrants, natural gas lines, and utility piping.
• Identify system abnormalities and take corrective measures to prevent downtime.
• Mechanical maintenance of overall plant.

2. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:

• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Conduct inspections of pumps, piping systems, compressors, and cranes to detect wear and tear.
• Maintain availability of critical spare parts to prevent operational disruptions.

3. Troubleshooting & Repairs:

• Diagnose mechanical failures, leaks, and system malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
• Repair and replace defective components in compressors, nitrogen plants, fire hydrants, and cooling towers.
• Work closely with vendors and OEM representatives for specialized troubleshooting and repair tasks.
• Ensure smooth operation of Machine and meet daily targets, detect abnormalities, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime. Responsible for machine related OEE.

4. Piping, Hydraulic & Equipment Maintenance:

• Oversee the installation, maintenance, and modification of various piping systems and Hand on experience on Hydraulic, including chilled water, process water, steam, and gas pipelines.
• Ensure all pipe fittings, valves, and joints are in good condition and meet safety regulations.
• Coordinate with civil and electrical teams for system integration and modifications.

5. Safety & Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and permit-to-work (PTW) procedures during maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies regarding fire hydrants, gas pipelines, and pressurized equipment.
• Follow proper handling and disposal procedures for hazardous materials and waste.

6. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, downtime events, and repairs.
• Document equipment performance trends and recommend improvements.
• Report major breakdowns and propose corrective actions to the maintenance manager.

7. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

• Work closely with the production team to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Suggest and implement best practices for extending equipment life and optimizing energy consumption.

Work Environment & Conditions:

• Industrial plant environment with exposure to mechanical equipment, high temperatures, and moving machinery.
• Requires physical fitness to perform maintenance tasks, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
• Shift-based work may be required, along with on-call availability for emergencies.
