About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Accountant with NBFC or fintech experience to own day-to-day accounting, monthly book closure and statutory compliance. You will keep our books audit-ready, manage GST and TDS filings, and support RBI regulatory reporting. You will work closely with the Finance Head, auditors, lending partners and internal operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Book-keeping

• Record day-to-day transactions in Tally / ERP: journal entries, vouchers, payables and receivables.

• Account for loan disbursements, EMI collections, interest income, processing fees and charges.

• Perform daily bank reconciliations and reconcile loan management system (LMS) data with books.

• Maintain the fixed asset register and process accruals, provisions and prepaid entries.

Month-end Closure & Reporting

• Drive monthly book closure within agreed timelines.

• Prepare trial balance, P&L, balance sheet and supporting schedules.

• Prepare MIS reports on portfolio, collections, income and expenses for management.

• Support expected credit loss (ECL) and NPA provisioning calculations as per Ind AS / RBI norms.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Compute and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9) and reconcile input tax credit with GSTR-2B.

• Deduct, deposit and file TDS returns (24Q, 26Q); issue Form 16 / 16A.

• Support advance tax, income tax return filing and tax assessments.

• Track ROC / MCA filings with the company secretary.

Regulatory Reporting (NBFC)

• Prepare data for RBI returns filed on the CIMS / XBRL portal, as applicable to the company's category.

• Support ALM statements, capital adequacy and other periodic regulatory submissions.

• Assist in credit bureau reporting reconciliations where required.

Audit & Controls

• Coordinate statutory, internal, tax and RBI inspection audits; prepare schedules and resolve queries.

• Maintain documentation and internal controls over payments, approvals and vendor onboarding.

Payables, Payroll & Treasury Support

• Process vendor invoices and payments; manage vendor reconciliations.

• Support payroll accounting, PF, ESI and professional tax compliance.

• Track cash flow, fund requirements and lender / borrowing account statements.

Requirements

Education

• B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) from a recognized university.

• CA-Inter, CMA-Inter or a semi-qualified CA is preferred.

Experience

• 2–5 years of accounting experience, mandatorily in an NBFC, fintech, bank or financial services company.

• Hands-on exposure to loan accounting, month-end closure and statutory compliance.

Skills

• Strong working knowledge of Tally Prime / ERP; exposure to an LMS is an advantage.

• Good command of MS Excel: VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS, reconciliations.

• Sound understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax and Ind AS basics.

• Working knowledge of RBI guidelines for NBFCs (income recognition, asset classification, provisioning).

• High accuracy, attention to detail and ability to meet monthly deadlines.

• Clear communication in English; Kannada or Hindi is a plus.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹550,000.00 per year
