As a technically proficient Digital Twin & SCADA Integration Engineer within the Global Business Unit Renewables, your primary mission will be to lead the automation and integration of SCADA data into our digital twin platform. In this role, you will be tasked with extracting and validating SCADA tags from Renewable Energy sites (such as Wind, PV, BESS) and automating the creation of digital twin representations using Azure-based solutions. Your expertise in industrial automation, cloud integrations, and asset mapping will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring data accuracy across our renewable energy portfolio. Your responsibilities will encompass various functional areas, including but not limited to: Data Standardization & Validation: - Defining and implementing data collection standards based on established templates like Darwins RGBU governance fields. - Developing and enforcing validation routines to identify missing values, duplicates, and data inconsistencies. SCADA Data Extraction: - Normalizing vendor-specific naming conventions and automating the export of tags to structured databases like Azure SQL or Azure Storage. Digital Twin Creation: - Extracting asset hierarchies from validated data (Substations, Feeders, ITS, Inverters, Array Boxes, Strings, Modules). - Delivering digital twin structured data in the agreed format to facilitate its creation in our digital platform. - Maintaining traceability by storing mapping data in a centralized repository. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build end-to-end data pipelines feeding into the digital twin platform using Azure Cloud services such as Data Factory, Azure Functions, and REST APIs. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring data flows, implementing error handling mechanisms, troubleshooting integration issues, and ensuring high data quality and continuous operation. To qualify for this role, you should possess a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, SCADA systems, or digital twin technologies. Expertise in OPC UA integration, data extraction, and cloud-based data pipelines is essential, with experience in digital twin platforms and familiarity with Digital Twins Definition Language (DTDL) being advantageous. Your technical skills should include proficiency in programming languages like Python, C#, or JavaScript, as well as a strong understanding of Azure services such as Data Factory, SQL Database, Azure Storage, and IoT Hub. Moreover, you should have a solid grasp of RESTful API integrations and data normalization techniques. In addition to technical proficiency, strong business skills are required for this role, including excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Your problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment will be critical to your success. Behaviorally, you should exhibit strategic thinking, attention to detail, adaptability to new technologies and processes, a collaborative mindset, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a commitment to continuous learning and process optimization. Preferred qualifications include experience in the renewable energy sector, familiarity with industrial data security and compliance best practices, and an excellent command of English, with proficiency in other languages being a plus.
