We are expanding our in-house gearbox design capability and looking for a technically strong professional to join our engineering design team. Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gearbox Design Engineer with expertise in mechanical power transmission systems for heavy machinery, especially geared systems for rolling mills, tube mills, and SPMs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing gearboxes from concept to detailed manufacturing drawings using advanced design tools. Key Responsibilities End-to-end design of industrial gearboxes for rolling mills and tube mills. Perform gear and shaft calculations using KISSsoft and/or in-house Excel tools. Selection and sizing of geared motors, couplings, bearings , and related components. Generate 3D models , assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks , Inventor , and AutoCAD Mechanical . Prepare layout plans , foundation drawings , and BOMs . Provide technical support to junior designers and production teams. Collaborate with clients for technical discussions, on-site support, and customizations . Continuous improvement of gearbox design to enhance performance and durability. Required Skills & Experience 4-10 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, particularly in gearbox design for heavy industrial equipment. Strong command over KISSsoft , SolidWorks , AutoCAD , Inventor , and MS Excel-based calculations . Experience in rolling mills, tube mills , and heavy fabrication machinery is highly preferred. Familiarity with hydraulic cylinder design , accumulator speed calculations , and conveyor system sizing . Excellent drawing interpretation and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior team members. Educational Qualification B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university. Preferred Certifications Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWPA) Sheet Metal (by Dassault Systmes) is a strong plus.
