Company Description ASECOM is a leading multi-disciplinary organization dedicated to offer consultancy service in MEP, Construction Management & Sustainable Buildings. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in Thiruvananthapuram. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for lead the design, development, and coordination of electrical systems for building services and infrastructure projects. The role requires expertise in delivering technically sound, compliant, and cost-effective electrical designs, while ensuring seamless integration with mechanical and plumbing services. Key Responsibilities Lead the electrical design process for residential, commercial, healthcare, institutional, and industrial projects. Develop detailed electrical drawings, load calculations, single-line diagrams, and specifications in compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations (IEC, IS, NEC, NBC, ECBC, CEA regulations, KSEI guidelines etc.). Design power distribution systems, lighting systems, earthing, lightning protection, fire alarm, ELV, and renewable/energy-efficient solutions. Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, and plumbing teams to ensure integrated MEP designs. Review and approve electrical design documents, shop drawings, and material submittals. Conduct technical reviews, value engineering, and feasibility studies. Provide support during tendering, estimation, and bid evaluations. Guide junior engineers and CAD technicians, ensuring quality and timely delivery of design outputs. Assist in site supervision, inspections, and resolving technical issues during construction. Stay updated with new technologies, codes, and energy efficiency measures relevant to the building services industry. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering 5–12 years of proven experience in electrical design for MEP projects. Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, codes, and standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD (Essential), Revit / BIM (Desirable) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and lead a design team effectively.
