We are seeking a Principal Engineer - Power System Studies with a solid background and 10-15 years of experience in providing technical leadership to ensure project delivery aligns with quality, schedule, and budget requirements. In this role, you will offer comprehensive technical guidance to our clients in the region, serving as the primary contact for all clients in the Middle East and actively participating in business development initiatives. Your responsibilities will include performing power system analyses for transmission and distribution projects, conducting feasibility studies, developing masterplans, dispatch studies, and reviews of grid codes. You will also be responsible for creating renewable generation connection schemes, optimizing the amount of renewable generation, and overseeing various technical aspects such as load flow, fault level calculations, voltage stability, and transient stability analysis using specialized software tools like DIgSILENT, PSS/E, PLEXOS, ETAP, CYME PSAF, and more. Additionally, you will review technical submittals by EPC contractors and developers, ensure compliance with electricity transmission codes and international standards, and participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) to verify grid compliance requirements. Collaborating with clients and contractors, you will assist in incorporating equipment models into network models for planning studies and perform a range of power system studies including reactive power capability, transient stability, insulation co-ordination, harmonics analysis, protection relay coordination, and more. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Master's Degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering, possess 10-15 years of relevant experience, and be proficient in power system study software such as PSS Sincal, PSSE, PLS CAD, and Dig silent. Familiarity with programming languages like Python or Java for process automation is advantageous, along with prior experience working with electrical utilities and delivering successful power system studies projects.
