Job Description: Design Engineer Vibration Dampers (Rubber and Viscous) Location: Pune, India Salary: INR 15,00,000 24,00,000 per annum (Negotiable based on experience and capability) About the Company: Metalwork Industries (MIL), established in 1992, is a global leader in the precision manufacturing of automotive components, including crankshaft vibration dampers, flywheel assemblies, and pulleys. Role Summary: We are seeking an expert Design Engineer specializing in vibration dampers for automotive applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and development of rubber and viscous dampers , coupled with simulation expertise. This individual will work independently with OEMs and internal teams to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design & Development: Lead the design of rubber and viscous dampers, ensuring alignment with customer and OEM specifications. Optimize damper performance for automotive applications through material and structural design. 2. Simulation & Analysis: Utilize CAE tools for vibration analysis, thermal behavior, and structural integrity of dampers. Perform FEA and NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) simulations to validate designs. 3. OEM Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison with OEMs, understanding requirements and presenting innovative solutions. Manage end-to-end development cycles, from concept to production readiness. 4. Technical Expertise: Conduct material selection and testing, particularly for rubber compounds and viscous damping fluids. Develop prototypes and oversee performance validation through laboratory and field testing. 5. Project Management: Manage project timelines, costs, and deliverables while ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 and other quality standards. 6. Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving OEM needs. Implement design and process improvements to enhance product performance and cost-efficiency. Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields. Experience: 8+ years of experience in vibration damper design and development (rubber and viscous). Hands-on experience with CAE tools like ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar platforms. Proven track record of working independently with global OEMs. Technical Skills: Expertise in NVH analysis, FEA, and material behavior. Knowledge of rubber compound formulation and viscous fluid dynamics. Familiarity with automotive standards and specifications. Soft Skills: Strong project management and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IoT integration for damper performance monitoring. Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as molding and casting for dampers. Previous collaboration with Tier 1 suppliers or global automotive brands.
