You will be an Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Fine Arts (History of Arts) at the School of Architecture and Design (SOAD) located in K.R. Mangalam University, Sohna Road, Gurugram. This is a full-time, regular position focusing on the specialization of History of Arts/Art History. As a highly qualified and motivated faculty member, your role will involve teaching, research, curriculum development, and student mentorship to contribute to the advancement of architectural education and practice. You will need to have expertise in design, technology, sustainable practices, and urban planning. Your key responsibilities will include: - Demonstrating proficiency in teaching and instruction with a strong foundation in design principles, advertising, illustration, typography, visual communication, and digital tools relevant to Art History. - Developing and updating curriculum based on industry trends and emerging technologies. - Implementing innovative pedagogical methods such as student-centered learning and project-based instruction. - Mastering software tools like Adobe Creative Suite, 3D modeling tools, and traditional media for practical teaching. - Encouraging interdisciplinary collaborations between design, fine arts, media, and technology. - Training students in portfolio development, industry-standard practices, and professional presentation skills. - Providing constructive critiques and guiding students in refining their creative and conceptual thinking. - Supporting students in career guidance, industry exposure, and internship opportunities. - Engaging in scholarly research, practice-led teaching, and integrating contemporary art and design discourse. - Fostering a diverse, inclusive classroom environment and incorporating global design trends into teaching. In terms of research and innovation, you will be expected to: - Conduct practice-based research integrating contemporary art, design, and new media technologies. - Collaborate with fields like digital media, technology, psychology, and cultural studies to expand the scope of Art History. - Contribute research papers, articles, and books on design trends, pedagogy, and visual culture. - Develop new teaching methodologies, integrate industry-driven curriculum updates, and assess learning outcomes. - Focus on sustainable design, eco-friendly materials, and socially responsible communication design. - Secure research grants, fellowships, or industry-sponsored projects to support innovation in Art History. - Partner with design studios, advertising agencies, and cultural institutions for live projects and applied research. Your role will also involve contributing to curriculum development, program enhancement, student mentorship, career guidance, industry collaboration, and community engagement. You should hold a master's degree (M.F.A. in History of Arts, Ph.D. in History of Arts), have prior teaching experience, and possess excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
