As a Senior Estimator at Crombie, you will play a crucial role in the success of the organization by providing estimating support to the Leasing, Development, and Design & Construction teams. Your responsibilities will include analyzing drawings, specifications, bids, and market trend reports to prepare accurate estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor for various construction projects across retail, office, industrial, and residential sectors. You will collaborate with the Estimating team to implement construction and development strategies, review internal tender results against project budgets, and provide feedback on tender vs budget comparisons. Keeping up to date with market conditions and regional pricing data, you will ensure that all budgets and estimates are well-researched and reflective of current trends in the industry. In addition, you will liaise with engineers, contractors, consultants, and internal Crombie departments to create accurate estimates, assist in project schedule development, and support cost monitoring and reporting systems. Your role will also involve cultivating strong working relationships both internally and externally, promoting a safe and respectful work environment, and undertaking special projects as assigned. The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of five years of experience in the construction industry with a background in estimating and/or cost consulting. A degree or diploma in a related field, along with relevant certifications such as CEC, PQS, MRICS, or Gold Seal, will be advantageous. Proficiency in software such as On Centre, RS Means Online, Bluebeam, and Excel, as well as knowledge of divisional and elemental cost budgeting formats, will be beneficial for this role.
