Job Description

The Component Designer is responsible for designing developing and optimizing components or sub systems that meet functional technical and performance requirements This role involves working closely with engineering product manufacturing and quality teams to create detailed component models drawings and specifications while ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational guidelines
Key Responsibilities Component Design Development Design components based on engineering requirements functional specifications and system constraints Create detailed 2D 3D models drawings and technical documentation using CAD tools Ensure designs meet performance safety manufacturability and cost targets Develop prototypes evaluate design feasibility and participate in design reviews Requirements Analysis Engineering Collaboration Understand and interpret technical requirements user needs and system interfaces Work with mechanical electrical software and manufacturing engineers to integrate components into larger systems Conduct tolerance analysis materials selection and structural optimization Testing Validation Support Support component testing validation and verification activities Analyze test results and iterate designs to improve performance or resolve issues Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements Documentation Change Management Maintain accurate design documentation including BOMs drawings and specifications Manage engineering change requests ECR ECO throughout the component lifecycle Ensure version control proper release processes and traceability of design updates Cross Functional Collaboration Collaborate with product teams to ensure component design aligns with functional goals Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure design manufacturability and cost efficiency Participate in design reviews FMEA and DFMA activities Required Skills Qualifications 2 5 years of experience in component or product design based on hiring level Proficiency in CAD software e g SolidWorks CATIA NX Creo AutoCAD Fusion 360 Strong understanding of materials manufacturing processes and design principles Ability to interpret engineering drawings GD T and technical documentation Good analytical problem solving and communication skills
