Application Support Engineer

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer with experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and weather forecasting applications. The role involves technical support, troubleshooting, optimization and collaboration with global teams to enhance HPC application performance.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver technical support for HPC systems and applications, including troubleshooting, query resolution and addressing user-reported issues.
• Assist users with job submission, debugging, optimization, and application porting.
• Collaborate with researchers, developers, system administrators and vendors to resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot open-source applications and engage with open-source communities.
• Install, configure, and maintain HPC applications and libraries.
• Work with commercial vendors and global teams to ensure smooth application support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech).
• 4+ years of experience in application/technical support preferably in HPC environments.
• Strong experience in the weather forecasting domain, with hands-on knowledge of applications such as WRF, MOM, WW3 etc.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization expertise.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with open-source software.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with global teams.
