Summary:
The candidate must have strong L2, L3, and L4 support capabilities with in-depth expertise in WebSphere Administration.The role demands experience in deployment, integration, performance tuning, and automation in complex enterprise environments.The individual should be capable of handling end-to-end issue resolution, environment management, RCA preparation, and compliance/audit activities.Candidate must possess deep technical expertise in installing, configuring, and managing IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments, including clustered and high-availability setups.Hands-on experience with WAS version upgrades, fix pack application, patching, performance tuning, security hardening, and integration with backend systems and web servers.Proficiency in administering related Middleware technologies such as JBoss, WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, and Microsoft IIS is desirable.
Roles & Responsibilities:Administering WebSphere Application Server (WAS) across multiple environments (Dev, QA, UAT, Production).Installing, configuring, upgrading, patching, and migrating WAS environments.Managing JVMs, clusters, JDBC, JMS, connection pooling, SSL, and security configurations.Supporting integrations with web servers (Apache, IHS, IIS) and backend databases (Oracle, DB2).Monitoring and troubleshooting performance problems across application, infrastructure, and database layers.Providing 24x7 production support, including on-call rotation.Supporting deployments, automation, and scripting activities using wsadmin, Jython, Jacl, Shell, or Python.Documenting all changes, issues, and resolutions as part of knowledge management.

Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.Effective communication and client-facing abilities.Capable of working under pressure in a 24x7 support environment.Self-motivated, meticulous, and passionate about Middleware technologies.6–8 years of WebSphere Administration experience in clustered, high-availability Linux environments.Proven expertise in installation, upgrades, patching, tuning, and supporting WAS.Experience with Oracle/DB2 databases as backend and Apache/IHS as frontend web servers.Good understanding of PMI metrics, performance monitoring, and web analytics.Must have completed at least 2 WAS upgrades/migrations.Hands-on experience with automation and scripting tools (wsadmin, Jython, Jacl, Shell, Python).Exposure to Grafana/Prometheus, Splunk, Jenkins, SVN/Bitbucket/GIT, Maven/Artifactory is preferred.IBM WebSphere Administration certification is desirable.
Additional Information:Higher-level qualification in a technical subject is desirable.IBM WebSphere certification will be an added advantage.
