Application Engineer II-Java Backend

As a Backend Engineer for our innovative reinsurance platform, you will play a crucial role in delivering quick, efficient, and user-friendly solutions for facultative reinsurance business. You will be a part of an agile squad working with Technical Squad Leads to code, provide technical expertise, and contribute to solution design. Your expertise in Java Spring Boot and experience with Azure Cloud Services will be essential in serving various user-specific Frontends written in Angular. Key Responsibilities: - Contribute high-quality code to the Backend written in Java Spring Boot - Work with Azure Cloud Services such as AKS, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, ASB - Collaborate with Technical Squad Leads in solution design - Ensure high security and compliance standards are met - Participate in the agile setup focusing on team empowerment Qualifications Required: - 12+ years of experience in the Technology field - 5+ years of experience in Java/Spring Boot, preferably with transactional enterprise applications - Familiarity with relational and non-relational database technology/concepts - Experience in (micro-) service solution design using synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns - Educational Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - Excellent Communication Skills in English Join us at Swiss Re, a global leader in reinsurance, insurance, and risk transfer, where we work to make the world more resilient.
