We are looking for a Staff Platform Engineer (or Architect) with strong systems thinking, hands-on expertise, and a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and software development lifecycles. This role blends deep technical execution with architectural foresight. You ll play a critical role in designing and building our cloud-native platform while partnering with engineering leads on system design and enabling best practices across teams. Key Responsibilities: Hands-on Platform Engineering (~70%) Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and cloud-native infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and AWS services. CI/CD and Developer Enablement Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and automation using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI. Mentorship and Technical Leadership (~30%) Mentor junior engineers and peers on infrastructure automation, DevOps practices, observability, and platform reliability. Architectural Collaboration Work closely with software architects and engineering leaders to influence infrastructure-related decisions aligned with product and system architecture. Site Reliability and Observability Improve system reliability and performance through observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic) and apply SRE principles such as error budgets, SLAs/SLOs and incident management. Security and Compliance Design and implement platform security best practices, backup strategies, and infrastructure governance controls to meet compliance and operational standards Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles in high-scale, production-critical environments. Deep expertise with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, WAF, IAM etc.) and container orchestration (Kubernetes). Strong hands-on experience with Terraform (preferred) and/or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code. Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines with modern tooling. Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, etc.). Familiarity with SRE practices , SDLC stages, and incident management processes. Track record of mentoring and uplifting engineers in DevOps/platform practices. Strong team player who thrives in cross-functional collaboration and system-level problem-solving. AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
