Key Responsibilities: Machine Operation: Operate and monitor various types of sewing machines (e.g., single needle, overlock, flatlock, bar tack, buttonhole, etc.) Adjust machine settings (tension, stitch length, etc.) for different fabric types and operations. Thread machines and replace needles, bobbins, and other parts as needed. Sewing and Assembly: Read and interpret work orders, patterns, and stitching instructions. Sew components of fabric or leather products accurately to specifications. Join, reinforce, or decorate parts of articles using specialized sewing techniques. Perform tasks like hemming, binding, seaming, topstitching, or patching. Quality Control: Inspect finished products for defects, missed stitches, or incorrect alignment. Maintenance and Housekeeping: Clean and oil machines regularly to maintain proper function. Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) for machine care. Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Teamwork & Safety: Collaborate with fellow operators, supervisors, and quality control teams. Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies at all times. Participate in training sessions for new processes and machines. Skills & Competencies: Proficient in operating sewing machines and handling various fabrics. Basic knowledge of garment construction or upholstery assembly. Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets. Understanding of safety practices and quality standards.
