1. Assembly and Fitting: Assemble and fit metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This involves aligning, positioning, and securing parts using hand tools, welding equipment, and other machinery. 2. Reading Engineering Drawings: Interpret and understand detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine assembly procedures and specifications. 3. Measurement and Layout: Take accurate measurements and perform layout work to ensure precise positioning and alignment of components during assembly. 4. Welding and Fabrication: Assist welders and fabricators in welding and fabrication tasks as required. This may include tack welding, grinding, and finishing operations.
· Perform tacking and finish welding using MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) processes · Execute down-hand welding (Position A & B) for fillet and butt joints · Interpret welding symbols and study engineering drawings · Conduct visual inspections (VT) to identify welding defects · Assist in Dye Penetrant (DP) Tests and understand Radiographic Testing (RT) · Select appropriate consumables and operate welding machines efficiently · Adhere to safety protocols and maintain workspace cleanliness
