As a skilled Network Engineer, you will be responsible for leading or assisting in the migration of traditional L2/L3 data center networks to Cisco ACI using an application-centric approach. Your primary tasks will include performing application dependency mapping, defining ACI constructs such as tenants, application profiles, EPGs, and contracts, and translating existing firewall rules, VLANs, and routing policies into ACI policy models. In addition, you will deploy, configure, and troubleshoot various ACI components, including APIC, Nexus 9000 series switches, leaf/spine fabrics, and fabric access policies. Collaboration with application teams to ensure accurate workload mapping and security policy implementation will be crucial. You will also integrate ACI with virtualization environments such as VMware vCenter and ESXi. Monitoring and troubleshooting ACI fabric issues using tools like APIC GUI/CLI, SNMP, and Syslog will be part of your routine tasks. Detailed cutover planning, testing, and rollback strategies for ACI migrations will be essential. Furthermore, you will integrate ACI with virtual environments, firewalls, and load balancers while documenting technical designs, migration plans, and operational procedures. To excel in this role, you must hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Network Engineering, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience. A minimum of 8 years of experience in enterprise networking and at least 4 years of experience with Cisco ACI deployments is required. You should have a strong understanding of data center networking, including VXLAN, routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, multicast, and Layer 2/3 technologies. Experience with Cisco Nexus switches, especially the Nexus 9000 series, APIC CLI/GUI, and troubleshooting ACI fabric issues is essential. A solid grasp of ACI policy-driven networking, including bridge domains, contracts, L3Outs, and service graphs, is expected. Knowledge of hybrid cloud networking and micro-segmentation concepts will be advantageous. You should have prior experience in ACI migrations from network-centric to application-centric migration within Cisco ACI. Demonstrated expertise in application-centric ACI migrations, including dependency mapping, policy translation, and minimal disruption execution is required.
