This is primarily a lead role, helping drive technical initiatives forward with teams, given broad guidance and support. You need to have solid foundations in the API exposure space, including API life-cycle management (such as API design best practices, discovery, inventory management, governance), API Provider and Consumer journey, REST fundamentals, and API Security (including AuthN, AuthZ, OpenID/OAuth 2.0/POP/PKCE, etc) & OWASP. Additionally, familiarity with OAS fundamentals, such as API documentation and Error codes, is required. Knowledge of GraphQL is a plus. It is essential to be able to write production quality code in Java / Open-Source technologies, with Python being a good-to-have skill. Exposure to building SDKs is strongly desired. Hands-on experience in Microservices architecture, Kafka/Message Broker, and Event Driven Architecture is a must. Proficiency in Database technologies (SQL & NoSQL) and design expertise on database modeling is also necessary. The ideal candidate should be capable of taking direction from tech leads and driving across teams with minimal guidance once teams are aligned. Having hands-on Exposure to API Gateways is a strong plus, as well as prior experience with API exposure to customers. While a telecom background is not required, the ability to pick up new concepts quickly is essential.
