We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to lead the Quality in one of the Units of Tata Auto Comp Systems Limited, based in Chakan, Pune. This individual will lead the quality strategy for our automotive component manufacturing operations. This role will also be responsible for implementing and continuously improving quality systems, ensuring product and process conformance, exceeding customer expectations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The candidate will foster a culture of continuous improvement, focus on advanced problem-solving methodologies, and have passion for excellence. The individual should have handled global customers and delivered high quality products to them. Key Responsibilities: 1. Quality Strategy Develop the quality vision, aligning with Company objectives and customer expectations. Define KPIs and quality performance metrics across plants and ensure effective monitoring and reporting. Collaborate with other leaders to drive a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. 2. Quality Systems and Compliance Ensure the Plant meets and exceeds the requirement of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and applicable customer-specific standards. Lead audits (internal, customer, third-party) and corrective/preventive actions to close compliance gaps. Maintain robust systems for document control, traceability, calibration, and product validation. 3. Customer and Supplier Quality Establish strong quality partnerships with key suppliers, drive supplier audits, PPAPs, and performance improvements. Champion Voice of the Customer (VOC) initiatives and lead quality issue resolution efforts globally. Respond proactively to customer concerns and lead containment, root cause analysis, and problem resolution using 8D, DMAIC, or similar tools. 4. Operational Excellence Promote Lean Six Sigma practices and support continuous improvement projects across facilities. Drive quality cost reduction through effective defect prevention, scrap reduction, and process optimization. Introduce digital quality tools, analytics, and real-time monitoring systems to enhance data-driven decision-making. 5. Team Development and Leadership Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing quality team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development. Identify training needs and support upskilling in quality tools, standards, and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Engineering.. Experience: Around 15 years of experience in Quality operations within the auto components or related industry. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication and people management capabilities with experience in managing mid-sized teams. Technical Expertise: Certification in Quality Systems and methodologies (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001, Six Sigma Black Belt). In-depth understanding of core tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, 8D). Should possess knowledge of Manufacturing processes like Laser Welding, Brazing, Soldering & Glueing, Stamping and AOI systems,. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with global customers.
