The Pattern Maker is responsible for creating accurate patterns based on designers’ concepts, ensuring proper fit, construction, and production feasibility. This role requires a strong understanding of garment construction, textile behavior, and grading standards. The ideal candidate will work closely with designers, sample makers, and production teams to bring design concepts to life. Key Responsibilities:Develop first patterns from design sketches or tech packs using manual or digital methods (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, Optitex). Adjust and perfect patterns for proper fit and garment specifications through fittings and revisions. Collaborate with designers to ensure aesthetic and technical alignment. Create production-ready patterns and ensure accurate grading for all sizes. Troubleshoot construction issues and suggest improvements for manufacturability and cost-efficiency. Maintain pattern archives and documentation for each style. Stay current with fashion trends, fabrics, and industry best practices. Must be able to read engineering drawings.
