Job Summary: The Gold Loan Officer will be responsible for sourcing, processing, appraising, and managing gold loan products at the branch level. The role includes customer handling, gold valuation, documentation, compliance, and ensuring timely disbursal and recovery of loans across multiple states. Key Responsibilities: 1. Customer Service & Sales Identify potential customers and generate leads for gold loans. Assist customers in understanding loan products, terms, and eligibility. Promote cross-selling of financial products such as insurance, savings, or other loan services. 2. Gold Appraisal Accurately assess and evaluate gold ornaments using proper tools and methods. Ensure gold purity standards are followed as per company policy. Maintain transparency with customers during the appraisal process. 3. Loan Processing & Disbursal Collect and verify all required documents (KYC, PAN, etc.). Enter customer details and loan particulars into the system accurately. Ensure timely disbursal of loans after verification and approval. 4. Portfolio Management & Recovery Monitor the loan portfolio and ensure timely EMI collections. Follow up on overdue accounts; take proactive steps for recovery. Coordinate with collection teams and adhere to legal and ethical recovery practices. 5. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with RBI and internal audit guidelines. Maintain proper documentation and custody of pledged gold. Conduct periodic audits and reconciliations as required. 6. Reporting & Coordination Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on gold loan performance. Coordinate with regional teams, head office, and auditors. Participate in periodic training, performance reviews, and state-level audits. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Commerce preferred). Minimum 1–3 years of experience in gold loans or retail lending. Strong knowledge of gold purity standards and appraisal techniques. Proficiency in local language(s), Hindi, and English. Willingness to travel and work across multiple branches Preferred Attributes: High integrity and reliability. Customer-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet targets. Knowledge of core banking software and digital tools.
