Position Title: Design Engineer Grade: Fixed Term Contract Division: Research Technology and Innovation Center Location: Chinchwad, Pune Role & responsibilities Research and develop cutting-edge engineering solutions for product/system design. Explore and evaluate new materials and manufacturing techniques to enhance performance and reduce costs. Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations to validate design concepts. Prototype components using 3D printing or CNC machining for verification. Develop and execute test plans, and analyze results to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance. Minimize design iterations through simulation-driven development methodology. Document design processes, learnings, and results for internal knowledge sharing and intellectual property protection. Prepare technical documentation including tolerance stack-ups, FMEA, validation reports, and testing results. Collaborate with technology, manufacturing, and QA teams to ensure design feasibility, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Design and analyze thermal systems and components, and prepare detailed thermal analysis reports. Publish technical reports, whitepapers, or file patents on innovative design methodologies. Stay updated on trends in green energy, smart manufacturing, and emerging competitor technologies. Preferred candidate profile Educational Qualification: BE/BTech. in Mechanical Engineering. Total Experience Required: 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience. Technical Skills & Tools: Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools Simulation tools such as FEA, CFD Experience with Aspen HYSYS, HTRI, and EES Strong engineering fundamentals and design thinking Preferred Background & Experience: Proven ability to translate research concepts into working prototypes. Exposure to patent filing, new technology development, or disruptive engineering projects. Experience in agile or iterative design processes within research or innovation teams.
