Job Description – QC Executive Ansapack Folding Cartons (AFC) Department: Quality Control (QC Lab) Location: Plant Operations - Ambernath Experience: 1–5 years in Printing & Packaging / Folding Cartons Reporting To: QC Manager / Plant Head 1. Role Summary The QC Executive is responsible for ensuring that all incoming raw materials, in-process jobs, and finished goods meet AFC’s quality standards. The role focuses heavily on lab testing, COA verification, batch sample management, and maintaining internal calibration records to support audit readiness and zero-defect deliveries. 2. Key Responsibilities A. QC Lab Operations Conduct routine and special lab tests on board, paper, inks, varnishes, adhesives, and other consumables. Perform GSM, moisture, thickness, COBB, bursting strength, and adhesion tests as per industry standards. Maintain all QC lab instruments, testing supplies, and documentation as per SOPs. B. Certificate of Analysis (COA) Verification Review and verify COAs received from suppliers for raw materials. Match COA parameters with internal test results and material specifications. Flag deviations immediately to the QC Manager and Purchase team. C. Raw Material Quality Inspection Inspect and approve incoming materials based on sampling plans. Conduct visual, physical, and functional checks prior to issuing material to production. Record inspection results in RMQC registers and ERP/QA software. D. Batch Sample & Retention Management Prepare and maintain batch-wise reference samples for each job. Label, store, and archive retention samples as per customer and audit requirements. Retrieve samples for customer complaints, investigations, and audits. E. Internal Calibration & Instrument Control Conduct scheduled internal calibration checks for lab instruments (weighing scales, micrometers, GSM testers, etc.). Maintain calibration logs, deviation reports, and tag instruments with calibration status. Coordinate with external NABL-approved agencies for annual calibrations. F. In-Process & Final Quality Checks Conduct line clearance, first-off, and in-process inspection on printing, die-cutting, and pasting lines. Document non-conformities and support root-cause analysis. Ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal quality parameters. G. Documentation & Audit Readiness Maintain QC lab registers, COA files, calibration logs, RMQC records, and batch sample archives. Support customer audits, GMP audits, and internal QA audits. Follow SOPs and update formats as per process changes. 3. Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of folding carton production processes. Hands-on experience with lab equipment and quality testing methods. Solid documentation discipline and traceability management. Ability to identify defects and take corrective action. Good communication and coordination skills. 4. Education Diploma / B.Sc. in Chemistry, Printing Technology, Packaging Technology, or related field. Additional QA/QC certifications preferred. 5. KPIs Zero customer complaints attributed to QC lapses. 100% accuracy in COA verification and calibration documentation. On-time inspection and release of raw materials. Role Summary This role drives end-to-end quality documentation governance across the plant, ensuring 100% compliance with customer specifications, internal SOPs, and audit requirements. The position is the backbone of file preparation, job card accuracy, proofing coordination, and complete traceability of inward–outward documentation. 2. Key Responsibilities A. File Specification Preparation Prepare and maintain customer-approved specification files for each job. Ensure accuracy of board GSM, shade, die-line, punching profile, pasting style, and finishing details. Coordinate with Prepress, Production, and Sales for version approval. B. Job Card Creation & Control Generate complete job cards with technical specs, routing, QC checkpoints, and change history. Release job cards to production only after QA verification. Track job card movement from Prepress → Production → QC → Dispatch. C. Change Control Management Maintain revision history for all artwork, CAD, dies, and process documents. Liaise with Prepress and Printing teams to ensure samples match customer specifications. Maintain proofing registers and approval records. G. QA Support Activities Assist QA inspectors with job setup verification. Support Complaint Investigation Files (CIF) with relevant records and proofs.
