Job Description: As an Android HMI Engineer in the automotive industry, you will be an integral part of our team focusing on the development of next-generation in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. Your role will involve working with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) based automotive HMI team to create and integrate HMI layers that offer rich interactive and responsive in-car user experiences. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing HMI layers and features specific to Android Automotive/AOSP, as well as developing and customizing Android applications, services, and components. You will collaborate closely with the design team to provide input and suggestions, and interface with middleware and HAL components for vehicle data integration. Additionally, optimizing performance, memory usage, and boot time for HMI applications will be a key focus area. Your role will also involve debugging and resolving issues related to both implemented and upcoming HMI applications. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including platform, QA, design, and customers, will be essential to ensure successful project outcomes. Required Skills: - Strong development experience in Android Framework, AOSP, and Android SDK. - Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages. - Experience with HMI architecture in automotive IVI projects. - Knowledge of Android application lifecycle, services, broadcast, and content providers. - Proficiency with Git and Android Soong & Gradle build system. - Understanding of Vehicle HAL (VHAL) in Android Automotive. - Familiarity with CAN/LIN protocols. - Experience with performance profiling tools, logcat, ADB, and system debugging tools. Soft Skills: - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams. - Ability to work independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
