Android HMI Engineer - Automotive IVI (AOSP)

Role Overview: As an Android HMI Engineer in the automotive industry, you will play a crucial role in developing next-generation in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems. Your primary focus will be on working with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) based automotive HMI team to create and integrate HMI layers that provide rich interactive and responsive in-car user experiences. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement HMI layers and features specific to Android Automotive/AOSP. - Develop and customize Android applications, services, and components. - Collaborate with the design team to provide input and suggestions. - Interface with middleware and HAL components for vehicle data integration. - Optimize performance, memory usage, and boot time for HMI applications. - Debug and resolve issues related to both implemented and upcoming HMI applications. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including platform, QA, design, and customers for successful project outcomes. Qualifications Required: - Strong development experience in Android Framework, AOSP, and Android SDK. - Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages. - Experience with HMI architecture in automotive IVI projects. - Knowledge of Android application lifecycle, services, broadcast, and content providers. - Proficiency with Git and Android Soong & Gradle build system. - Understanding of Vehicle HAL (VHAL) in Android Automotive. - Familiarity with CAN/LIN protocols. - Experience with performance profiling tools, logcat, ADB, and system debugging tools.
