Analyst- Principal Investments Finance

As an Analyst in the Principal Investments Finance team (Product Control) at Barclays, your main responsibility will be to ensure correctness and reporting of balance sheet and P&L for relevant entities. This will involve month-end ledger activities, analysis of balance sheet and P&L accounts, and providing relevant inputs for various reporting, including preparing Stat accounts for entities and corresponding audit. At Barclays, you are not just anticipating the future - you are creating it. - Manage the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements and other accounting records in accordance with relevant accounting standards, rules, and regulations. - Support in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks, and report on these financial risks to senior colleagues. - Develop and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure no fraudulent misreporting, and ensure the accuracy of financial data. - Develop and implement up-to-date financial policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective financial practices across the organization. - Manage the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and software applications, including collaborating with IT colleagues to integrate financial systems with other enterprise systems. - Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory reports to authorities, and provide support to other departments in their preparation and review of regulatory reports. - Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities in support of audits and examinations. - Finance/Accounting qualification/degree, CA preferable but not compulsory. - Good financial acumen, accounting, and reporting skills. - Ability to understand and analyze financial information, including balance sheet and P&L. Basic knowledge of IFRS9 and Financial instruments is a plus. This role is based in our Chennai office.
