As a Power BI Developer, your role will involve working closely with stakeholders to identify and define self-service analytics solutions, dashboards, and actionable BI reports. You will play a key part in enterprise BI design, ensuring that the design is repeatable, lean, and maintainable across a large organization. It is essential for you to have a strong fundamental understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and data engineering best practices. **Responsibilities:** - **Technical Leadership and Development:** - Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions. - Build and maintain complex data models, including data warehousing, DAX calculations, and optimized Power BI solutions. - Design and implement role-based security models and user access within Power BI to protect sensitive data. - Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure high data quality and alignment with Power BI requirements. - **Data Governance and Quality:** - Implement consistent data definitions, naming conventions, and standards across Power BI reports and models. - Ensure data accuracy and reliability through data validation, error handling, and troubleshooting methodologies. - Create and maintain documentation on data sources, transformations, and business logic in Power BI. - **Stakeholder Engagement and Support:** - Understand stakeholders' data needs and translate business requirements into actionable Power BI solutions. - Provide end-user support, troubleshoot Power BI-related issues, and seek user feedback for continuous enhancement. - Act as the main point of contact for Power BI-related projects. - **Project Management and Team Leadership:** - Oversee and manage a team of Power BI developers and analysts, setting standards and promoting best practices. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align Power BI solutions with broader data initiatives. - Utilize agile methodologies for efficient project workflows and alignment with evolving business needs. **Technical Requirements:** - **Experience:** - 5+ years of experience in Power BI development, including data modeling, DAX, and Power Query. - Strong background in data analysis, SQL, and data warehousing and ETL processes. - Familiarity with Databricks for data storage, cleansing, and warehousing. - Proven track record of delivering large-scale Power BI projects in a corporate or enterprise environment. - **Skills:** - Proficiency in DAX, M language (Power Query), and data modeling principles. - Experience with RLS (Row-Level Security) and deploying Power BI reports across multiple environments. - Understanding of agile project management tools and collaborative development practices. - Knowledge of version control and collaborative development practices. **Non-Technical Requirements:** - **Communication:** - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Strong facilitation skills for leading workshops, training sessions, and presentations. - **Problem Solving and Critical Thinking:** - Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities within Power BI. - Strategic thinking skills to balance short-term project needs with long-term data governance goals. - **Team Leadership:** - Experience managing and mentoring a team, inspiring and guiding less experienced team members. - Ability to delegate effectively and balance individual contributions with team-driven results. - **Adaptability:** - Flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing business needs and technologies. - Familiarity with agile processes to quickly respond and optimize development cycles. - Continuous learning attitude, staying updated on new Power BI features and industry trends. - **Attention to Detail and Quality:** - Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to data quality, accuracy, and consistency. **Educational Background:** - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus. - Relevant certifications in Power BI, data analytics, or Databricks are preferred.
