The Principal Developer will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop solutions and tools that enable associates working on analyses and reporting activities in clinical trials. You will collaborate across Advance Quantitative Sciences (AQS) to understand the current user experience and collaborate with Product Owners to drive advancements in critical areas. Your primary focus will be on facilitating the utilization of open-source tools throughout the various tasks in AQS. As the Principal Developer, your responsibilities include developing technical tools (packages, applications, etc.) that support clinical trial teams. You will actively engage in the complete development cycle of tools, starting from collecting user requirements, prototyping, conducting demos, providing training, and ongoing support. Additionally, you will participate in enhancing the user experience for our associates, recognizing opportunities for continuous improvement and modernization. Your role also involves contributing to the development and adoption of sound data science practices and documenting tools and processes to promote modernization inclusively. To qualify for this position, you should have an MSc with at least 5 years of relevant experience in a quantitative/computational science field (e.g., bioinformatics, machine learning, statistics, physics, mathematics, engineering) with practical experience as a data scientist/biostatistician. Strong proficiency in open-source languages such as R or Python for data manipulation, analysis, and exploration is essential. You should also demonstrate experience in good data science practices like utilizing virtual environments, versioning, and code review.
