Key Responsibilities 1. Logistics and Operations Oversee daily transportation activities including dispatching, routing, and tracking shipments. Ensure timely, safe, and efficient pickup and delivery of consignments. 2. Fleet Management Manage maintenance, repair, and inspection of vehicles. Conduct regular safety and load checks. Ensure all drivers are trained, licensed, and compliant with company and legal standards. 3. Staff Management Supervise drivers, loaders, and warehouse personnel. Develop schedules, monitor performance, and enforce safety policies. Provide training and resolve staff-related issues. 4. Budget and Cost Control Monitor transportation costs and optimize resource utilization. Develop cost-efficient delivery routes and logistics methods. Maintain adherence to approved budgets. 5. Compliance and Safety Ensure compliance with transport regulations, safety laws, and road haulage requirements. Maintain updated permits, licenses, and certifications for fleet and personnel. 6. Planning and Scheduling Develop and implement efficient delivery schedules. Coordinate shipments from origin to destination in line with production and customer requirements. 7. Record Keeping & Reporting Maintain accurate logs of vehicle operations, shipments, and expenses. Investigate and report lost, delayed, or damaged shipments. Prepare MIS reports for management. 8. Communication & Problem-Solving Liaise with suppliers, production managers, and customers. Provide timely updates on shipment progress. Resolve operational issues and customer complaints.
