Role Title: Social Impact & Innovation Fellow Role Summary: We seek highly skilled and motivated climate finance professionals with banking, investment management, or related financial services backgrounds for our prestigious two-month Research Fellowship. Fellows will collaborate closely with the Amaly Legacy team on specialized research projects culminating in a high-profile publication focused on the state of carbon credit markets (both compliance and voluntary). The publication, produced in partnership with a foundation affiliated with India's Ministry of External Affairs, will feature insights from global thought leaders, including experts from WWF, The Nature Conservancy, UN Agencies, and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). Fellows will gain significant exposure through publication authorship and invitations to high-profile industry events organized by Amaly Legacy and its partners. Responsibilities: Market Assessment: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of climate finance markets, specifically focusing on carbon credit mechanisms, compliance frameworks, and voluntary markets. Stakeholder Engagement: Review and contribute to high-quality, insightful reports and presentations tailored for financial institutions, industry stakeholders, and policy experts. Requirements: 2 to 8 years of experience in banking, investment management, strategy consulting, or financial services with a demonstrated focus or strong interest in climate finance. Deep analytical skills, capable of synthesizing complex financial, environmental, and regulatory information into clear, actionable insights. Exceptional research capabilities, particularly in industry-specific analysis related to carbon credit markets, climate finance, and sustainable investing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in preparing clear, impactful presentations for diverse audiences. Amaly Investment Commodity Management is seeking a skilled Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Analyst with a strong background in strategy consulting and accounting. The ideal candidate will have expertise in financial modelling, budgeting, and a deep understanding of agriculture practices and agri-processing operations (preferably raw cashew nut processing). This role will be crucial in accurately measuring and analysing the impact of various farming practices on crop yields, quality, and financial performance, while also optimizing the efficiency of our cashew processing plant. Responsibilities Yield Forecasting: Develop and maintain robust financial models to forecast crop yields, quality, and revenue based on the implementation of regenerative agriculture practices such as intercropping, crop rotation, cover cropping, integrated pest management, and water conservation. Input Analysis: Analyse the impact of proprietary microbial formulations, NPK inputs, and other bio-tech solutions on crop performance and incorporate these factors into financial models. Market Monitoring: Monitor and forecast cashew kernel and cashew nut shell liquid prices, as well as related industries and products where our cashew products are used as ingredients. Budgeting Collaboration: Collaborate with the agronomy team to create budgets and financial plans that reflect the costs and benefits of implementing various regenerative agriculture practices. Processing Efficiency: Work closely with the processing plant team, including our head of processing plant operations (ex-Olam) to identify and model efficiencies in the processing lines, optimizing output and minimizing waste. Strategic Alignment: Partner with the CFO and risk management lead to integrate financial models and analyses into overall business plans, ensuring alignment with company strategy and risk management objectives. Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare periodic reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, communicating key insights, trends, and recommendations for optimizing financial performance. Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in regenerative agriculture, cashew processing, and related industries, incorporating new knowledge into financial models and analyses. Certification Impact: Analyse the impact of various certifications (e.g., organic, fair trade, regenerative agriculture) on the liquidity and pricing of our cashew commodities, incorporating these insights into financial models and forecasts. Impact Assessment: Collaborate with certification, food safety, quality assurance partners, and impact assessment partners, including our digital Monitoring Reporting and Verification (dMRV) partner, to capture the impact of our commodities' emission scores, value chain impact, and social and environmental footprint of our products on our financial plans. Sustainability Alignment: Ensure that financial plans and strategies align with our sustainability goals and support the continuous improvement of our environmental and social performance. Regulatory Compliance: Monitor relevant regulations and guidelines to identify potential opportunities and risks related to our export markets and procurement requirements and ensure alignment with financial planning. Certification Coordination: Coordinate with the food certification, safety and quality assurance partner, sustainability and our offtake partners to evaluate the financial implications of obtaining and maintaining certifications required to meet evolving regulatory standards and customer demands in key export markets. Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategy consulting, and/or financial planning and analysis, preferably within the agriculture or agri-processing sectors. Background: Strong background in strategy consulting and accounting, with a track record of driving business growth through data-driven insights. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Financial Modelling: Proven experience in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting, with advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial modelling tools. Sector Expertise: Deep understanding of regenerative agriculture practices and their impact on crop yields, quality, and financial performance. Commodity Knowhow: Knowledge of cashew processing operations and related industries, including market trends and pricing dynamics (preferred) Presentation: Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Cultural Fit: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including agronomy, processing plant, finance, and risk management.
