The role of Head HIC - Aluminum Smelting is responsible for leading research, development, and innovation for aluminum smelting technologies and related areas such as carbon technology, process control, and engineering. The primary focus is on improving the efficiency, productivity, and sustainability of the smelting process. This position involves leading a research team across key areas of aluminum smelting processes, carbon anode technology, process control, automation, and engineering design. As the Head Aluminium Smelter, your main objective is to provide technical leadership to drive best practices, technological advancements, and sustainable solutions for the company's smelting operations. It is essential to ensure that long-term research and development in aluminum smelting technologies align with the organization's goals of maintaining a competitive edge in the market and supporting sustainability initiatives. Key Responsibilities: A) Provide strategic and technical leadership for aluminum reduction processes, including smelter, carbon & rectifier domains, to meet the present and future needs of Hindalco's aluminum business. B) Develop world-class technical capabilities and infrastructure at HIC-Aluminum, aligning with the long-term business strategy. C) Spearhead breakthrough research initiatives by identifying opportunities for process and quality improvements, developing research strategies, and leading CAPEX proposals in collaboration with business project teams. D) Collaborate with Aluminum smelters & MCoE leadership team to drive business transformation, acting as the principal technical advisor to the aluminum business and facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration across HIC verticals. Success in this position entails driving innovation, leading cutting-edge research, and fostering collaboration to enhance the company's competitiveness and sustainability efforts.
