Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, conducting regular reviews to ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and cost requirements. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve departmental and company objectives. Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and manage succession planning for key roles within the procurement function. Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and economic indicators to make informed purchasing decisions. Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or delivery timelines. Collaborate with the production and planning teams to forecast material requirements accurately and plan purchases accordingly. Ensure that all purchased materials and components meet the company's quality standards and specifications. Work closely with the quality control and engineering teams to address any issues related to supplier quality and compliance. Collaborate effectively with other departments, including production, engineering, quality, and logistics, to ensure alignment on procurement needs and priorities. Lead initiatives to digitalize and automate procurement processes where appropriate, ensuring the department remains at the forefront of industry best practices. Continuously review and improve procurement processes, implementing best practices and driving operational excellence. Deep understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, materials (including Brass, steel, aluminum, and other metals), and supply chain dynamics. Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and advanced Microsoft Office skills. Primarily office-based, with occasional visits to suppliers and production sites.
