Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fresher Alternate Text Writer to create descriptive alternate text for images, diagrams, charts, and illustrations in college textbooks. Your role will help make educational content more accessible to students with visual impairments and enhance the overall learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Write clear, accurate, and detailed alternate text descriptions for images, figures, tables, and diagrams found in college textbooks.
Collaborate with authors, editors, and subject matter experts to understand the context and importance of visual content.
Ensure alternate text complies with accessibility standards to support students with disabilities.
Maintain consistency and clarity in descriptions to aid comprehension of complex academic concepts.
Review and update existing alternate text in educational materials as needed.
Learn and apply best practices for accessibility and educational content writing.

Qualifications:

Master degree holders (preferably in English, Education, Science, or related fields).
Strong writing and communication skills with an eye for detail.
Ability to interpret academic images and convey their meaning clearly.
Interest in educational accessibility and inclusive learning.
Basic knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) is a plus.
Eagerness to learn and collaborate in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with academic subjects and textbooks.
Ability to research unfamiliar topics quickly.
Basic understanding of assistive technologies is beneficial.
