We are hiring an Alt Text Specialist Biology/Life Science for full-time, contract, and freelance positions, responsible for creating clear, accurate, and accessible alt text for biology-related images such as diagrams, charts, graphs, anatomy visuals, micrographs, and lab setups. The role includes reviewing and refining AI-generated alt text, ensuring scientific accuracy, clarity, and compliance with global accessibility standards like WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and EPUB guidelines. Candidates must have strong Biology or Life Science knowledge, excellent English writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to simplify complex scientific concepts. Preferred skills include experience in accessibility projects, STEM writing, digital publishing, or content reviewing. Applicants should hold a B.Sc or M.Sc in Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Zoology, Botany, Biochemistry, Medical Sciences, or related fields. Freshers and candidates with 05 years of experience can apply, and freelancers with strong subject expertise are welcome. Full-time roles are based in Chennai/Hybrid, while freelance work is remote with flexible hours. Comprehensive training will be provided on alt text writing standards, accessibility guidelines, tools, and quality-check processes.
