Job Title : Vessel Accountant Department : Accounts & Finance Reporting to : CFO Location : Mumbai Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Vessel Accountant to manage the financial accounting of vessel-related activities, including voyage accounting, expense tracking, port disbursements, and compliance with maritime financial regulations. Reconcile voyage results and prepare vessel P&L statements monthly. Track and report on OPEX and voyage expenses against approved budgets. Coordinate with technical and operations teams to verify expenses and address discrepancies. Ensure GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance for all vessel-related transactions. Prepare supporting documentation for audits and liaise with internal and external auditors. Support cash flow planning and forecast vessel cash requirements. Maintain documentation for insurance claims, classification society fees, and crew expenses. Assist in budgeting and cost estimation for new voyages or charters. Assist in annual audit and also be responsible for internal auditing, periodically. Requirements: Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 6-10 years of relevant experience in shipping or maritime finance. Strong knowledge of maritime accounting principles and port documentation. Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Tally Prime, or similar.
