JOB SPECIFICATION OF JOB TITLE Sr Analyst-Microbiology LOCATION Pune DEPARTMENT Microbiology REPORTING TO Shaine EXPERIENCE 5-7 years QUALIFICATION MSc Microbiology/Biotechnology JOB RESPONSIBILITY Perform daily microbiological analysis of food, water, and environmental samples. Conduct testing for pathogens such as Salmonella , Listeria , E. coli , Yeasts & Molds , etc. Perform allergen testing (e.g., gluten, peanut, soy, etc.) using ELISA or PCR-based methods. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including PCR machines , incubators, autoclaves, biosafety cabinets, etc. Prepare culture media, reagents, and maintain proper documentation of all lab activities. Follow aseptic techniques and maintain a sterile working environment to prevent contamination. Review and record test results accurately and report deviations or anomalies to the Lab Supervisor. Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 , FSSAI , and other relevant food safety and laboratory standards. Participate in proficiency testing (PT) and quality control activities. Calibrate and verify instruments as per SOPs and maintain equipment logs. Maintain proper sample tracking, labeling, and storage Support method validation and research activities, if required. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelors or Masters degree in Microbiology , Food Technology , or a related field. 13 years of experience in a food microbiology lab preferred. Familiarity with microbiological techniques , allergen testing, and molecular methods (e.g., PCR). Strong understanding of food safety standards and laboratory best practices. Good documentation, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. . ATTRIBUTES Flexible,Able to work in shifts
