About the Role: We are seeking a Senior MySQL DBA with proven expertise in high availability architectures and performance tuning of large-scale MySQL environments. If you're passionate about reliability, scalability, and optimizing database performance in real-time production systems, this role is for you. Key Responsibilities: Architect and maintain high availability MySQL environments using InnoDB Cluster , Group Replication , ProxySQL , Galera , etc. Analyze, optimize, and tune complex SQL queries , indexes , execution plans , and schema design . Manage replication setups – asynchronous, semi-sync, GTID-based – with automated failover strategies. Perform proactive performance monitoring using tools like Percona PMM , Grafana , MySQL Enterprise Monitor , etc. Troubleshoot slow queries, locking issues, and system bottlenecks at both database and OS level. Implement robust backup and restore strategies using Percona XtraBackup , mysqldump , or cloud-native tools. Automate repetitive DBA tasks with Shell/Python scripts. Collaborate with developers and DevOps to align database design with application performance needs. Manage user roles, privileges, and ensure database-level security and compliance. Required Skills: 5–10 years of hands-on MySQL DBA experience , managing production databases. Strong knowledge of InnoDB internals , transaction handling, buffer pool tuning, and storage optimization. Proven experience in building and managing high availability MySQL clusters. Advanced skills in performance tuning , including query profiling and optimizer hints. Experience in Linux system administration for database optimization (I/O tuning, memory management, etc.). Working knowledge of backup strategies , disaster recovery , and failover automation . Scripting experience with Bash , Python , or Ansible for automation. Familiarity with cloud-based MySQL (AWS RDS, Aurora, OCI, GCP SQL) is a bonus. Preferred Qualifications: MySQL 8.x deep expertise MySQL Certifications (OCP, Oracle Certified MySQL DBA, etc.)
