Role & responsibilities Erection Activities Supervise erection of MCC, PCC, PLC, and field control panels including installation with alignment, leveling, and locking. Plan and execute cable tray support, tray erection, and routing as per approved layouts. Oversee power cable, control cable, and instrument cable laying with proper tagging and segregation. Erect junction boxes (JBs), LPBS (Local Push Button Stations), marshalling cabinets with correct orientation and protection. Perform cable glanding, ferruling, and termination at motors, instruments, JB, MCC/PLC panels. Implement earthing and bonding of electrical panels, trays, and field instruments as per standards. Instrument erection with tubing work with respect to hook up drawings. Ensure erection is carried out in line with approved drawings (SLDs, cable schedules, hook-up diagrams, tray layouts) and QA/QC checklists. Prepare Work Procedures, Field Quality Assurance Plans (FQAP), and detailed Checklists for all E&I erection activities to ensure compliance with project standards. Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning activity: Perform cold & hot loop checking, I/O testing, and logic verification for PLC/DCS-based automation systems. Ensure communication between PLCs, equipment panels, VFDs, and SCADA/DCS systems. Configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot field instruments using HART communicator and test equipment. Carry out functional checks of transmitters (pressure, flow, level, temperature), analyzers, actuated valves, and interlocks. Support commissioning of rotating equipment (compressors, blowers, pumps, vacuum pumps, VFD-driven motors) and process utilities (scrubbers, heat exchangers, chillers, cooling towers). Witness and review FAT, SAT, and third-party testing reports for electrical & instrumentation panels. Prepare and maintain erection protocols, inspection checklists, pre-commissioning and commissioning documentation. Troubleshoot and resolve E&I field issues to ensure smooth handover. Verify and test safety interlocks, emergency shutdown systems (ESD), alarms, and protective relays. Ensure safety, quality, and PTW compliance during erection and commissioning. Provide training and technical support to client O&M team during handover. Preferred candidate profile Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering. Minimum 12-14 years of experience in E&I erection, testing & commissioning, preferably in power, CBG, chemical, oil & gas, or process industries. Hands-on experience in E&I installation (cable trays, JBs, LPBS, terminations, earthing) and commissioning of PLC/DCS systems. Strong knowledge of loop checking, calibration, troubleshooting, and VFD drives. Ability to interpret P&IDs, SLDs, GA drawings, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and hook-up diagrams. Familiar with hazardous area classification, flameproof equipment. Knowledge of industrial safety practices, isolation procedures, and permit-to-work systems. Strong coordination and leadership skills for site execution and commissioning.
